Mission High School - SOT Meeting Minutes 11/19/20 1.0 Welcome, Introductions, and Virtual Sign-In Melissa Cain, Support Staff Barb Collins, Principal Sue Strosser, Licensed Staff Jill Glass, Licensed Staff Chelsea Tystad, Parent 2.0 Old Items 2.1 Review October 2020 minutes - read and approved. 3.0 New Items 3.1 Operating budget - review. We are being frugal with our money. 3.2 Title 1 - A lot of plans are put on hold while we are quarantined. We are paying Ms. Strosser $22/hr to visit students and work with them one-on-one. OOur new hire is put on hold for now, too, as we wait for more direction from the district regarding reopening. 3.3 Parent engagement - Parent participation has been extremely low. Due to the circumstances surrounding the pandemic, we are going to continue to be patient with students and parents who have not been attending classes regularly or responding to communication attempts, as we do not know what they are going through. See attachment: https://docs.google.com/file/d/1VGwAJlq39i_xzW85vCjHef4szC-RLsIZ/edit?usp=docslist_api&filetype=msword * A review of the survey results were presented and discussed. * involvement of parents in Title I progam * Educational Involvement Accords * Campus Plan for including Parents in the Academic Achievement of Students 3.4 Tentative schedule for hybrid learning: Periods 1,2,3,4 on Mondays and Thursdays; Periods 5,6,7,8 on Tuesdays and Fridays. This will allow smaller class sizes to ensure social distancing and time for cleaning classrooms. Wednesdays will entail shortened virtual classes from home, much as we currently utilize Fridays. 4.0 CCSD updates - We will remain at home and continue distance learning through the end of the semester. The school board will reconvene in January to discuss returning to campus using the hybrid model of learning. 5.0 General Discussion - n/a 6.0 Next Meeting: Thursday, December 17, at 3:30 p.m. 7.0 Public Comment Period
